Hill Learning Center doesn’t do this work alone.

As we strive to extend our reach, deepen our knowledge and expertise, marshal resources to pursue our mission, live into our commitment to Furthering Access, and be a good neighbor in our community, we work to build lasting, collaborative relationships with leaders in education, business, technology, and professional development.

The following partners represent a few of the schools and organizations with which Hill partners to strengthen our programs and extend our impact. Generous philanthropy helps support many of these partnerships that further access to Hill programs.

Edgecombe County Public Schools

With support from Barnhill Family Foundation and the district, Hill has partnered with Edgecombe County Public Schools, providing 95 RAP and other professional learning opportunities since 2015. In 2021, with additional investment by Barnhill, ECPS, Anonymous Trust and the Mebane Foundation, we developed a three-year plan to provide dedicated 95 RAP tutors in ECPS elementary and middle schools to help address learning loss from the pandemic.

Partnership Stories

When we began to focus on Latino families with children with learning differences, our goal was to support and empower them in order to see real results in and out of the classroom. We found Hill to be a ready partner. The experience, wisdom and positive reputation of Hill is making a real difference and we’re deeply grateful.

Luke Smith, Executive Director of El Futuro
Jessica Conn, MTSS Coordinator at Maureen Joy Charter School

Having a tutoring partnership with Hill Learning Center has been invaluable for students. For many of the students served by the tutoring partnership, their time with our tutor is the difference between being somewhat behind to being proficient in reading.

Kendal Grier, Principal at KIPP Durham Elementary

The results that we are seeing with RAP tutoring are remarkable. Our scholars have exhibited notable improvements in their ability to grasp foundational literacy skills. The tailored instruction has not only addressed individual learning needs but has also ignited a passion for learning among our scholars.
