Bruce J. Heim Foundation

The Bruce J. Heim Foundation was established in 1986 to provide financial assistance to causes that will help people, especially young people with potential for academic excellence in an area of interest.

Durham Merchants Association Charitable Foundation

The primary mission of the Durham Merchants Association Charitable Foundation is to respond to the needs not being met by others. It examines its grant-making in light of the activities of other grant-makers in the community. It seeks to meet the long-term needs of the community rather than needs of individual organizations.

F.M. Kirby Foundation

Established in 1931 by Fred Morgan Kirby, today the Foundation supports a wide array of education, health, environmental, arts, religious, public affairs, and human services organizations.

Fox Family Foundation

The Fox Family Foundation was created in 1991 by Dr. Frances Hill Fox to assist with her generous philanthropy in Durham and the Triangle. Dr. Fox was joined on the original board of the Foundation by her children. Together with community leaders, they chose to focus the Foundation’s charitable giving primarily on organizations supporting arts, community services, education, and health.

William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust

The William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust was established in 1966 by a bequest from the estate of chemist and industrialist William R. Kenan, Jr. Grants are awarded in the following four areas: education, arts and arts education, basic human needs, and other Initiatives.
