Affording The Hill Center

Federal Tax Deduction

School tuition and fees may be tax-deductible as medical expenses. Children who have been diagnosed as having a specific learning disability or attention deficit disorder may qualify for deductions under the federal income tax regulations.

Financial Aid

The Hill Center provides financial aid on the basis of demonstrated family financial need. We adhere to the procedures of Tuition Aid Data Services (TADS) to determine the ability of the applicant’s family to pay tuition. The TADS recommendations are considered by the Financial Aid Committee, which determines whether aid is to be granted and how much aid to grant. Although The Hill Center is generally not able to meet full need, more than $250,000 of financial aid is awarded each year with an average award of $7,000. All information is kept confidential.

In addition to demonstrated need, the following factors are also considered when allocating awards:

  • Number of returning students qualifying for financial aid
  • Number of new students qualifying for financial aid
  • Potential of individual student to benefit from the program
  • Payment history and adherence to financial aid application deadlines

Hill especially thanks the North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation, which has made a four-year, $300,000 investment in expanding access to Hill’s academic program through increasing student financial aid.

Financial aid is awarded without regard to race, sex, handicap, color, religion, or national origin.  Click on the TADS logo below to begin your financial aid application:
