Accreditations & Affiliations

Hill Learning Center is an independent school accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS). We are also approved by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction as an “alternative” school for children with learning disabilities. Faculty and staff are members of the International Dyslexia Association (formerly the Orton Dyslexia Society) as well as the Learning Disabilities Association of America. Hill Learning Center’s teacher professional development program is accredited by the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC) and recognized by IDA.

International Dyslexia Association

The mission of IDA continues to be the same as the mission embraced by the early Orton Society pioneers – seeking to study and treat dyslexia for the benefit of those with dyslexia and their families.

Since 1963, LDA has provided support to people with learning disabilities, their parents, teachers and other professionals with cutting edge information on learning disabilities, practical solutions, and a comprehensive network of resources.

The Learning Disabilities Association of North Carolina (LDANC) promotes awareness of the multifaceted nature of learning disabilities. We support equitable opportunities for people with learning disabilities to participate in life’s experiences. National Association of Independent Schools
