Designed for current HillRAP teachers who are serving emergent readers, this self-paced course can be accessed at your convenience, anytime! Emergent literacy skills are the basic building blocks for learning to read and write. This online course presents targeted strategies for teaching the three major emergent literacy skills: oral language, phonological awareness, and the alphabetic principle. This course also provides specific guidance around how to scaffold instruction around these skills within a HillRAP lesson. New additions include a printable Hill Sound Wall and Key Word Cards ready to print and use in your classroom.
