Emergent literacy skills are the basic building blocks for learning to read and write. Areas of focus include the three major emergent literacy skills: oral language, phonological awareness, and the alphabetic principle. This course presents targeted strategies for teaching these skills and guidance around how to scaffold instruction within a HillRAP lesson. This course is intended for teachers currently implementing the HillRAP methodology with emergent readers.
