This Multisensory Math workshop addresses the foundations of mathematical literacy as recommended in standards based curricula. It covers subitizing and numeracy, place value, four basic operations, fractions and decimal fractions with linkages to ways the conceptual hierarchy of skills impacts higher math. Illustrations include the various ways these core concepts impact and link to algebra. All teaching strategies and explicit language are appropriate for use with any curriculum or program. The instructional sequence Concrete-Representational-Abstract is modeled with explicit instructional language which enhances student comprehension. Participants practice instructional strategies using manipulatives during the workshop and leave with new instructional strategies which can be immediately implemented in any classroom.

A partial scholarship for this workshop may be available. Please fill out this form and you will be notified if a scholarship is available.
