Hill Outreach Programs extend the success
of The Hill Center model beyond the walls of the school
so that infinite numbers of students who struggle
with learning can be transformed into confident, independent
learners. Through the support of foundations, individuals
and businesses, The Hill Center has developed best
practices professional development workshops and programs,
implemented Hill-based programs in public and private
school settings and early childhood programs, and
provided consultation to a host of others. Replication
projects are underway in several communities within
the United States as well as in Geneva, Switzerland.
In recognition of both its academic and outreach programs, The Hill Center was one of two organizations nationwide to receive a 2001 Allyn and Bacon Award for Exemplary LD Programs by the National Council of Exceptional Children.
The Hill Center is committed to improving teacher preparation, sharing its successful research-based instructional methodology, and in partnering with public and private schools everywhere in order to help all students achieve success in school.
"The Hill Center is proof that these children can learn if we learn how to teach them. If we bring in the teachers and get them to develop these techniques and they work at it and learn it rigorously and they practice it every day, marvelous things are happening here at The Hill Center."
"I am so proud of The Hill Center and I hope that the whole nation will learn about this and 2 million teachers in America will learn how to teach all children successfully through the good work of The Hill Center."
James Hunt, Former North Carolina Governor
