Internationally known learning differences expert Rick
Lavoie offers inspiration and information for parents and teachers of students
with learning differences. Mr. Lavoie is a wonderful story-teller whose 30 years
of experience in residential programs and numerous academic credentials make him
an engaging and informative speaker.
He is best known for his award-winning videos How
Difficult Can This Be?: The F.A.T. City Workshop; Last One Picked, First One
Picked On: The Social Implications of Learning Disabilities, and When the Chips
are Down: Learning Disabilities and Discipline. He is also author of the book
It's So Much Work to Be Your Friend: Helping the Child with Learning Differences
Find Social Success. His most recent book and PBS DVD is The Motivation
Breakthrough: 6 Secrets to Turning on the Tuned-Out Child.

Kirby-Horton Teacher Training Center located on The Hill Center campus.
