We at The Hill Center are very honored to have been chosen as the 2010 beneficiary of the Triangle Corporate Battle of the Bands. Founded in 2006, the Battle has helped raise more than $250,000 to help deserving children in our community. All proceeds we receive will support Operation Literacy, a program we formed in partnership with Durham Public Schools.

Through Operation Literacy we will provide elementary and middle school students in need of extra learning assistance with individualized afterschool tutoring using our highly successful HillRAP (Reading Achievement Program). This research-based methodology was specifically developed for children struggling with reading and has repeatedly been proven effective.

For every $1200 we raise in support of Operation Literacy, we can transform a child’s life. This makes the support we receive from the Battle of the Bands truly priceless. We are very appreciative of this opportunity bestowed by out Battle hosts: McKinney & American Tobacco Campus.
