The Written Language Achievement Program “HillWrite” is an adapted version of the highly- successful Hill Center Methodology specifically created as a tutoring model for students who are experiencing written language difficulties. This program is implemented in small group sessions which focus on:
- Oral Drill
- Oral/Written Spelling
- Copying/Sentence Dictation
- Handwriting
- Composition (Sentence/Paragraph)
- Writing/Mechanics
- Capitalization
- Punctuation
Each level of HillWrite includes carefully-selected materials that will be used for instruction. Students will use workbooks that target specific written language skills taught at each level, and will use EOG materials to supplement instruction in written language.
Students will be pre- and post-tested, and parents will have a meeting with the instructor at the end of the 24 sessions. A written summary of final performance will be prepared for each student.
